Mayor Ravenstahl is on-board to participate in Paddle at the Point, and has encouraged at least one member of each department of his office to join him by grabbing a paddle on World Environment Day.

Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato are signed up to show their support for their city and this historic effort. Following their lead, a group of 30 of city employees have signed up to join them.

During a recent press event, Onorato pledged himself to Pittsburgh, saying,

“Western Pennsylvania, we need your help! If you have a canoe or kayak, or if you know someone with a canoe or kayak, please register and bring it down to the Point on June 5. Let’s show New York and Cleveland that we have what it takes to break the record!”

With two of the region’s leading officials standing alongside us and so far over 1,160 of you registered to join us on June 5, of course we have what it takes! We’ll see you at the Point!
