Thanks for all who participated and helped out at today’s Paddle at the Point.
Here are links to two Gigapans of today’s event. They are high resolution photos of the big day.

What a wonderful event to be part of! When called upon the city of Pittsburgh really knows how to shine!
You can probably count the attendies with this gigapan taken from Mount Washington. I was right by the George Washington and Guyasuta bronze.

You can see some photos of this statue on my flickr profile. http://www.flickr.com/photos/mtsonic/4672808883/
how can we get the picture?
We were so pleased at how well organized it was! I was anticipating traffic jams, and long lines to register and to launch. It was a fantastic day we will long remember! Thank YOU!
The record is broken, but in our Pittsburgh fashion we slammed the lid on that baby! Usually I’m alone when I’m out on the water, never been in a traffic jam of boats before, and discovered how friendly and courteous all those paddle people are…
Kat: Once Guinness has certified our new world record, Venture Outdoors will likely sell copies of photographs along with T-shirts.
Since the weather was wet and wild after the event, it was hard to keep the paper certificate dry and nice for keepsakes. Could the organizers of this event perhaps make the certificate digital file available to all who participated and e-mail it out to those registered, or available for download? I got 2 certificates and they both got ruined as I took the boat to the car in the rain.
This would be awesome to have printed out and framed since its a unique event and quite fun to talk about. Thank you!

Hi Michael: What a great idea! We will be adding a “Print your certificate” link to this website.
Thank you all so much for a great day.
We had a great time. it was so much fun to see all the kayaks/canoespaddling around.
Exciting to break the record!!!
Thank you for organizing the event.
We drove out from New Jersey, well worth the trip!
Thanks again.
Will
Hi Will, Thanks so much for taking part in the world record, and for your kind words. New Jersey, Virginia, Ohio… We’ll have to compile a map to see where the many participants came from. I know we had a volunteer safety boater who came all the way from Florida!
when we going to get the RESULTS…excited to here the good news n is T-Shirts going to be available after the record is set or ?????
I was with my son who turned 14 that day! What a way to celebrate his birthday!
Hi Sukhi: Guinness will likely take a few months to certify the record. We will have t-shirts for sale, and probably pictures as well, after Guinness makes it official.
How does the raffle for tickets work? Do we know who got them or who will for the different items to win? Also, I see that we can pick up certificates by turning in wristbands at Venture offices. Do we need to hold on to them for the raffle? Thanks.
How do the raffle tickets work? We are still holding onto ours because we were not given any direction as to what to do with them. Because I don’t believe any name was given with the # affiliation on the ticket.
Hi Lee: We just posted the winning raffle numbers at http://www.paddleatthepoint.com/raffle-winners/! You can pick up a certificate at VO, Kayak Pittsburgh, or you can print your own at http://www.paddleatthepoint.com/2010/06/08/certificate-of-participation/
Hi Teresa: We just posted the winning raffle numbers at http://www.paddleatthepoint.com/raffle-winners/!
7 of us came from Latrobe ranging in age from 11 years to 65. Thrilling to participate. Thanks for such good planning and the good company of fellow kayakers. Can’t wait for the T-shirts and photos.
I didn’t register but I was able to make it before the count down.
How can I register? I was able to find myself at Gigapan’s picture from the point.
Thanks
Alex
